We had the honor of playing at the Presidential Reception for the Society of Behavioral Medicine's annual conference in San Francisco. It was a really nice event, and they provided transportation, meals and hotel rooms in one of the finest hotels in town.
Trish (who takes a lot of pictures but doesn't get in many!) and I drove from S.D. to S.F. in the Van with the P.A. and the equipment. We stopped halfway and spent the night and arrived the day of the gig, meeting Don, Ginny, and PK, who had flown up from San Diego, for lunch.
We were joined by our Bay Area friend, Andy Koblick on guitar. Don and Ginny had scored a suite in the hotel, and we were all made very comfortable by our hosts. Jim broke away from the conference, and we setup at 6 or so. We played two sets from about 8 till 11, with everyone having a good time.
A big thanks goes out to Jim Salis who is a member of SBM and got us the gig, to the two Amandas that organized so much, and to the staff of the Marriot that helped us with myriad details from extension cords to lights.
The next day, Don, Ginny, and PK flew back to San Diego, and Trish and I drove back to San Diego in the Van. Hope we get to do this again!
